How to use
Start with a small sprinkle and build up based on your pet's size and appetite. Shake, spoon or pour the powder over kibble or wet food, mix it into broth or homemade treats, spread it on a lick mat, or stir it into a little food to help with pill time. Each teaspoon has about 3 calories. A topper adds to a complete diet and does not replace it. Keep fresh water available, and ask your vet about pets with special diets.
Use it for
- Picky eaters that turn away from plain kibble
- Senior dogs and pets that lick or gum their food rather than crunch
- Lick mats, puzzle toys and homemade treats
- Pill time, mixed into a little food or broth
Who it's for, and who it's not for
- For: dogs of any age and size, and cats, that love chicken and need a tastier meal or a simple protein boost.
- Not for: pets that cannot eat chicken (Farm to Pet makes beef, turkey and fish toppers), or use as a complete meal.
Questions
How much topper should I add?
Start with a sprinkle. Farm to Pet's guide is up to 2 to 5 teaspoons a day for pets of 15 lb or less, 5 to 7 for pets of 16 to 35 lb, and up to 8 for large dogs.
Is it the same as Farm to Pet Chicken Chips?
Yes, in powder form. Farm to Pet makes the topper from its single-ingredient Chicken Chips, so it has the same chicken breast and nothing else.
Can cats eat it?
Yes. Farm to Pet says cats can safely enjoy its toppers, just like dogs of any age and size.
